Repeat and tiling tool

Build seamless repeating patterns with the tile still visible.

A repeat only works when its edges agree. This editor keeps the source tile, neighboring repeats, gaps, rotation, and final composition in the same workflow, making seams and accidental rhythms visible before a file leaves the browser.

Working specimens

Open the pattern, then change the system.

These are live entry points, not decorative examples. Every pattern opens with its generator-specific controls, global layout, palette, history, and export settings intact.

See the repeat, not just the isolated motif

The preview can show the pattern as a full composition or expose the tile relationship directly. Scale and repeat controls make it easy to distinguish a strong single shape from a rhythm that remains balanced across a larger field.

Gap, padding, offset, rotation, and background choices are handled at composition level. This separation lets you preserve a motif while testing multiple repeat behaviors, then return to any earlier state through undo, redo, or the visual history.

Export at the size the destination needs

A seamless vector tile can remain compact and scale without blur, while a rendered composition can be more convenient for a CMS, presentation, or social tool. The exporter supports both paths and shows the exact output before download.

The web preset selects conservative image and compression defaults for people who do not want to tune every setting. Advanced controls remain available for format, quality, dimensions, source formatting, and batch generation.

Workflow

From a starting proof to reusable source.

  1. Pick a tileable motif

Start from arcs, waves, grids, lenses, stripes, mosaics, or another generator marked as seamless.

  2. Stress-test the repeat

Change scale, count, offsets, gaps, padding, and rotation while watching several neighboring tiles.

  3. Deliver the tile or composition

Export editable SVG source or render a larger PNG, JPEG, or WebP background with a web preset.

Useful destinations

Questions before you start

How can I check that a pattern repeats cleanly?

Use a repeated preview at more than one scale, inspect all four tile boundaries, and test the pattern with no gap before adding intentional spacing or padding.

Can I export a single tile and a larger pattern?

Yes. SVG export modes cover the reusable pattern source and the composed output, while image export renders the full dimensions selected in the dialog.

Can I undo a repeat experiment?

Yes. Undo, redo, named history steps, and reset-to-initial are available in both the parametric generator and the visual builder.
